Swacha Bharat Mission

 Introduction:

The Water and Sanitation Department is a department of the Satara Zilla Parishad. To implement various programs and schemes related to water and sanitation development, a Water and Sanitation Committee has been established within the Zilla Parishad. Under the leadership of the District Collector and the Chief Executive Officer, this department is responsible for the implementation of various water and sanitation-related schemes in the district.

 Vision and Mission:

To provide every person in rural areas with 55 liters of clean water per day and to provide individual toilets. Additionally, to create a clean and healthy environment at the village level.

 Objectives & Functions:

Objective of the Swachh Bharat Mission Scheme:

To provide all citizens with a healthy life and ensure easy availability of toilets for women, the elderly, and children. To cultivate habits of cleanliness and eliminate environmental pollution in soil, air, and water, making the entire community disease-free. The aim is to adopt a prestigious, healthy, and hygienic lifestyle while ensuring proper management of wastewater, solid waste, and manure in an environmentally friendly manner.

Objective of the Jal Jeevan Mission Scheme:

To provide every citizen with clean and quality water continuously, at a rate of 55 liters per person per day through individual household tap connections.
