Integrated Child Development Scheme- Lek Ladki Yojana
Maji Kanya Bhagyashree Yojana has been ratified instead of Lek Ladki Yojana to empower girls, Women and Child Development Department, Govt Decision no. Ebavi-2022/Pro.No.251/Ka. 6 has been started as of 30/10/2023.
My Daughter Bhagyashree (Revised) New Yojana was launched from 01 August 2017 to increase the idol birth rate, encourage and assure girl child education. Considering the insufficient response to the said scheme, the said scheme has been approved to start a new scheme, Lake Ladki, for the empowerment of girls after birth from 1st April 2023.
Objectives of the Scheme
- To increase the birth rate of girls by encouraging the birth of girls.
- To promote girl child education.
- To reduce the mortality rate of girls and prevent child marriage.
- Reducing malnutrition.
- Encouraging the reduction of the out-of-school ratio to 0 (Zero). The benefit to be paid under the said scheme is as per the following terms and conditionsUnder the Lake Ladki Yojana, in yellow and orange ration card holder families, after the birth of a girl child and while she is studying, some amount will be given to the girl child in five installments after the beneficiary girl reaches the age of 18 years.
About who will benefit
Under Lek Ladki Yojana, in yellow and orange ration card holder families, on or after April 1, 2023, after the birth of a girl child, Rs. 7 thousand rupees in 6th class, 8 thousand rupees in 11th class and after the girl attains the age of 18 years, she will be given 75 thousand rupees total amount of 1,01,000/- in five installments.
Terms and Conditions
- This scheme will be applicable to one or two daughters born on or after 1st April 2023 in the yellow and orange ration card holder family. Also, if there is one boy and one girl, it will apply to the girl.
- It will be mandatory for the parents to submit the family planning certificate while applying for the third installment for the first child and for the second installment for the second child.
- Also, if twins are born during the second delivery, the benefit of this scheme will be admissible to one girl or both girls. But after that, the mother/father will have to undergo family planning surgery.
- Having one daughter/son before 1st April 2023 and second daughter or twin daughters (independent) born thereafter will continue to be admissible under the scheme. But it will be necessary for the/father to do family planning surgery.
- Beneficiary’s family must be residents of Maharashtra state.
- Beneficiary bank account must be in Maharashtra state.
- The annual income of the beneficiary family should not exceed Rs.1.00 lakh.
Necessary documents

- Income certificate of the head of the family (Annual income should not exceed one lakh) from Tehsildar/Competent Officer will be required.

- Bank certificate of first page xerox and CKYC of bank passbook (bank account attached to Aadhaar card)
- Ration Card Yellow or Orange Attested Copy
- Voting Identity Card (Certificate of girl’s name in electoral roll after completion of 18 years for last benefit)
- Bonafide certificate from the relevant school for studying for benefits at the relevant stage.
- Certificate in Family Planning Surgery
- For the final benefits it will be necessary for the girl to be unmarried. (Self Declaration of Beneficiary regarding being single)
- Proof that beneficiary’s family is a resident of Maharashtra State
- Joint photograph of beneficiary and Mother

Procedure to avail the benefit of Lake Ladki Yojana

Various responsibilities and procedures under the scheme will be as follows.
Registering the form on the online portal.
The responsibility of verifying the eligibility of the beneficiary of Lek Ladki Yojana will be the responsibility of the Anganwadi Sevaka, concerned supervisor. After verifying the eligibility of the beneficiary, the beneficiary’s application form and all the documents should be uploaded on the online portal, and after verification, the beneficiary’s online application should be enabled, and should be submitted to the authorities.

Competent authorities should verify that the application forms uploaded by the Anganwadi Sevika/Supervisor/Chief Sevika are fully uploaded on the portal. District level officials should digitize the said online application and take care to preserve it till the final benefit is received by the beneficiary.
The said scheme should be publicized by the District Program Officer, Zilla Parishad in coordination with the District Information Officer. Wide publicity should be given regarding the said scheme in Gramarabha/Mahila meetings held at the village level.
Under the scheme, the benefits to be given to the beneficiaries at various stages will be given through Direct Beneficiary Transfer (DBT). For that, an account has been opened in ICICI Bank designated by Women and Child Development Department at the state level and the funds will be allocated to the District Program Officer, Zilla Parishad in case of rural areas for sanctioning the benefits to the beneficiaries as per the portal and they will deposit directly to the account of the beneficiary through Direct Beneficiary Transfer (DBT). For that, it will be mandatory to open a joint bank account of the beneficiary and the mother. Eligible list is prepared by verifying the eligibility from the district level. After that, the bank is given an approval list for doing fund class (DBT) in favor of the said beneficiary and accordingly the said amount is deposited through the bank to the joint account of the beneficiary and her mother through DBT through the bank. In case of death of the mother, a joint account of the beneficiary and the father should be opened. However, in such a case, it will be necessary to submit the death certificate of the mother while applying. While giving benefits to orphan girls, the function should be done in the same manner as the benefits of other schemes of the department are given to them. If a beneficiary family has migrated to another district of the state after benefiting from one or some phases of this scheme, they should apply to the Integrated Child Development Service Yojana officer of the district in which they have migrated to be allowed the benefit of the next phase. If the application is scrutinized by the concerned officers and found to be eligible, it should be recommended to the State Chamber and the final decision should be taken by the State Chamber. Similarly, if a beneficiary family has migrated outside the state after benefiting from one or some phases of this scheme, they should apply directly to the state cell and the state cell will take the final decision.)
