Khatav Taluka
Khatav – Khatav is the main place of the taluka, but all offices are located in Vaduj. Previously, the entire village was fortified. This area was under the rule of Shivaji Maharaj, Lutfullah Khan, and Krishnarao Khatavkar.
Aundh – Aundh was the headquarters of the Jahagiri of the princely states. Here is the two-storied wada of the Pant Pratinidhi in the Maratha architectural style. Tryambak Krishna, who held the hereditary position of Kulkarni of Kinhai, was an ancestor of the Pant Pratinidhi family. In 1690, Chhatrapati Rajaram bestowed the titles of Sardarki and Subhalaskar along with the title of Samserjung to Parashuram Tribak in the service of Ramchandra Amatya. On the hill is the temple of Sri Yamai Devi.
Aundh Museum – This museum, which houses over 8,000 objects, was built in 1938 by Balasaheb Pant Pratinidhi. It features paintings depicting the characteristics of various regions, marble sculptures, intricately carved metal and wooden items, ivory carvings, and rare precious historical gems in the strongroom. It is now under the Archaeological Museum Department of the Government of Maharashtra.

Aundh Museum
Yamai Temple – Adjacent to the village of Aundh is a hill called Mulipith, which is 800 feet high. Atop this hill is the temple of Yamai Devi, the village deity of Aundh, and the Kuladevi (family deity) of the Pant Pratinidhi family. Yamai Devi is one of the five Mahadevi (great goddesses) of Maharashtra.
Pusegaon – Pusegaon is situated on the banks of the Yerala River. It is one of the eleven lingas of the Nath sect. Here is the samadhi of Sevagiri Maharaj, who performed many welfare works before taking samadhi on January 10, 1947.
Pusesawali – Pandurang Aichit, an ancestor of the Aichit family of this place, received two Ajana trees and an idol of Dnyaneshwar from Alandi. Today, there are two hundred and fifty trees, and the idol of Dnyaneshwar at this place is distinctive.
Mayani – The tank at this place is more than 100 years old. It was built to provide water to the agriculture of this drought-prone area. The forest department has transformed the area around the tank into a forest by planting many trees. This has created a favorable environment for various birds, attracting not only birds from within the country but also from abroad during winter. Birds like eagles, hawks, flamingos, various types of ducks, and sarus cranes are found in large numbers here. You can also see divers and water runners. This sanctuary spread over 1.5 hectares, is known as the Indira Gandhi Bird Sanctuary.
Kuroli Siddheshwar – Khatav, a place on the Yerala River, has an ancient temple of Siddheshwar. When water from the spout falls on the linga, it produces a sound like a whistle known as ‘Sihanad.’ It is the only place in India with such a phenomenon.
Gursale – A village located 9 km from Vaduj, Gursale has a 13th-century Ramliga temple and also a Somliga temple.
Ner Tank – Near Pusegaon, in the small village of Ner, there is a British-era tank known as Ner Tank. Built by the Irrigation Department during the reign of Queen Victoria in 1873, the tank has a hill in the middle with a Chaitoba temple. There is a path to the temple that never gets submerged even when the tank overflows.
Katgun – The birthplace of the great social reformer and pioneer of women’s education, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule.
