District Rural Development Agency
1.1) Introduction:-
The District Rural Development Agency was established in the year 1986. For this, funds were available from the Central and State Governments in the ratio of 60:40. Under this, SGSY, SGRY, IRDP, IAY, etc. schemes were implemented.
At present, the IAY scheme was converted into the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in 2016 and in 5 years from 2014 to 2019, the work of building self-help groups under NRLM has been started on mission mode in all the districts of the country. These 2 Central Government schemes are being implemented through the District Rural Development Agency.
1.2) Vision and Mission:-
To build permanent houses for the poor, needy, below the poverty line, and all categories of people living in mud houses in rural areas.
1.3) Objectives & Functions :-
Centrally sponsored and state-sponsored housing schemes are implemented through the District Rural Development Agency.
Awards & Appreciations :-
On the occasion of “National Housing Day” on 20th November, Maha-Awas Abhiyan is implemented in the state every year. In it, the beneficiaries, organizations, etc. who perform best are awarded at the state, department, district, taluka, and gram panchayat levels. In this, Satara district has been honored with various awards at the department and state levels, the information about which is as follows.
