Various schemes and activities are implemented by the government’s social justice and special assistance department through the social welfare department of the Zilla Parishad to raise the social and educational standard of living of the backward classes and for their upliftment. Also, according to the government policy orders, the Zilla Parishads spend at least 20% of their income on the welfare schemes of the backward classes.
